Title: Two finger symphony
Post by: Chuck Pearson on September 21, 2011, 08:03:51 pm
Starring mass, inertia, acceleration and gravity.  Conducted in the key of F, Yellowstone NP venue.

Index and fore on Joy(stick).  Sweet balance achieved between 300 hp up, absolute control down.  Love that retarder.

Indeed! We cruised a bit in Yellowstone in the FT. We set the joystick at about "three" and easily cruised in the park. We could power up the hills and maintain comfortable pace on the descents.

Weather was nice and we had the windows open. We could hear the hiss of compressed air moving about the coach keeping it stable

Exactly what were talking about.  When I was headed for the mountains for the first time with this coach I spent a lot of time reading advice on what gear to use, how to use retarder etc.  The neat thing about it for me is that it has become entirely intuitive.

Makes for stress free cruising in challenging conditions.

I agree and I use the retarder all the time. Out west in Yellowstone in June and many times in the mountains of VA.
