Does anyone have an electrical diagram/block schematic for this system
Bill. With your engine number, you can go to Cummins and get the engine wiring diagram, i might be able to bring it up too, never tried on a 5.9, but would give it a try. We have Cummins QSOL system, so maybe I can get it and email it to you, IF I can get it.
Gotta have your engine number.
The crusie control would only be listed IF it were supplied by Cummins, this is Engine only wiring diagram from Cummins. Otherwise I recommend going to FOT .
schematic for the cruise control? or schematic for what?
Likely the obsolete Bendix Cruise Control.
Do you have a specific question about it?
I worked on mine for awhile before finding a part not available and going to the King Control Electronic cruise. A lot more accurate and reliable than the Bendix proved to be.
Bill is trying to help me. I don't have cruise control wiring for my coach. A U-225. I can contact Cummings and FOT.
Mine does not work, and before tearing into the coach we were hoping to find a wiring diagram to know where to start and which way to go.
Kent said the unit worked for him, it did not on test drive, and I know I might have to replace the unit with a King unit.
Thanks for the suggestions. I will get the engine number when next at the coach and send it to Dave M.
Dave this pdf may help.
I have saved that doc. and will start thru the 42 pages when I get to the coach this weekend.
Once again, it is ask and you will receive from the forum. Thanks Bobby Carter for the link.
Brett, I never had any problems with the cruise. Right before Dave bought the coach it had been on consignment at a local dealers place. They had let the batteries run down when I went to pick up the coach. Its my guess that the problem is a electrical issue rather than a mechanical one, ergo the need for a schematic.
If you or anyone knows where any hidden connectors, fuses or relays are, it would be very helpful to Dave.
Look for loose connections at the cruise box in the front wall in engine compartment, broken wire at throttle pedal switch, or at injector pump hook up area. Oh, and don't forget to check the fuse first! Those appear to be the common problem areas. They can be a pita to troubleshoot if you don't know where to go looking for where certain parts are located in the various locations on the coach.
Thanks everyone for the info. I have the 42 pages saved, and printed PatC's suggestions. I hope to look into the problem this weekend.
Kent had the cruise working when the coach went to sell. I hope it is a simple to find problem, and knowing where to look is going to help.
