Title: Want to replace bench dinnette with chairs
Post by: PATRICK on October 09, 2011, 04:21:57 pm
We have a 02 U320. Can we remove the dinnette benchs without redoing the carpeting? Is there anything unattractive under there? Can we simply set two chairs in where the benchs were?

We did that, but every layout is different.  FT did ours, because it required relocating w/d valves, wiring, and finishing the floor to wall molding.  Pull out the drawers in the benches and see what's there.

I can not answer for what is under your carpet.  Our '02 came as pictured in a "Harvest Table" format.  We love this configuration.  It opens space and we can sit and watch out the window while eating.  My brother in-law liked it so much that he modified his '99 by removing his dinette and installing a Harvest table.  His floor was wood  and required only a minor floor trim to cover an exposed pipe.

Any idea what you're going to do with the dinette benches?  I've been looking at possibly trying to remove my recliner and barrel chair and covering it to a dinette and another bed area.

Ron's "Harvest Table" configuration is exactly what we did with our J lounge dinette.  It works very well for us.
