Title: Aqua Hot AHE 130 02X
Post by: Karl Brenneman on November 15, 2011, 12:07:24 pm
Dear Aqua Hot Experts

Last Fri I did my annual Aqua hot diesel maintenance ie. nozzle, filter and general cleaning. I started it after maintenance and it ran fine. This AM I started the diesel got the green light after a few Min's the green light went out. So I restarted it, this time I watched the exhaust and saw lots of smoke. Then it shut done.

I just e-mailed Aqua-Hot they said it sounds like air in the lines. It  ran great last week fine after the annual. Dose this sound right?

Any help would be great.    Karl

Karl,

Post your question on roger Berke's Aqua Hot forum so he will see it sooner.  There are a number of things that can cause your white smoke and Roger has the files and pictures that can help you get to the source.

Karl

When you change the fuel filter, you have to start the Aqua-Hot and allow the new filter to fill with fuel.

The way I do it, is to change the filter, then turn the diesel switch on, then off after 3 or 4 seconds.  This sends the Aqua-Hot into the cool down or purge cycle.  You will hear the motor speed up (runs out of fuel).  When the fuel lines fill, you will hear the Webasto load (motor slows down).  It may take two cycles for filter to fill depending on how far the filter is from the Aqua-Hot.

If you skipped this step, then you probably tried to run it while it was purging itself.  Probably will be OK now.

The white smoke is unburned diesel fuel in the combustion chamber.  Will not hurt anything.  Just let it burn off.

If you need further assistance, join my forum.  Lots of information there.

Thank You  for your help. The smoking was happening before I changed the filter. That is one reason I changed  the nozzle and filter. In hopes that would cure the smoke problem.  It didn't smoke all the time. But half of the time.
