Our U225 is 200 miles away from me and I just looked at the specifications for the 1993 U225 and it has no mention of having disc brakes... just air brakes.
We're trying to find a reasonable weather window to get across the mountains that corresponds with a couple days off from work so rather than wait and wonder (and crawl about under the coach)... did the 1993 U225/U240 come with air *disc* brakes or with drum brakes.

At least the U240 has air drum brakes front and rear. They are wedge brakes. Suspect the U225 is the same.
No problem in 157,000 miles on ours.
Oh rats! I was hoping for disc but that's ok... with a coach this light it's not that big of a deal. We do have a retarder anyway. Thanks. :)

Wedge Brakes, wow!, never thought they would use them in place of the S Cam type.
Pay attention to the amount of wear on them, they can get costly if let go too far.
They work great when they are in good condition, just get expensive if not taken care of.
One of the big problems with wedge brakes is that people don't take them apart, clean and lube them. And you have to make sure that you have a mechanic who is familiar with them. When working properly, they adjust and work great!
