Title: Hub Caps for 92 U225
Post by: ROADSTAR04 on November 26, 2011, 09:16:49 pm
Our U225 has Alcoa wheels and the front hub caps are solid and mount under the lug nuts which makes checking hub oil a little difficult. Do they sell a hub cap with a pop out center making checking and adjusting oil level easier. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

yes they do sell a hub with a centre cap that just snaps in. While at my friends his CC has them on steer and Tag and I took a few pictures as I remember a few threads on this issue and Barry drilling his out.

If anyone finds this style for the older Alcoa wheels as found on the U225 and U240, please post-- they are different than newer generation wheels.

My prob with the model shown is that if you have to fill everything has to come off.  I have the 'moon' style cover on my fronts... I'm just going to drill a hole and install a crystal drawer pull at the center as an aid to pulling the cover off...

that is correct Dave you have to take them off to fill but at least you can see the level for checking, which the others you cannot even do that without removing.
Looks neat too
