Ok, I assumed this would be an simple job but the difficult part is sourcing the replacement parts. Mike @ FT says they are not available... what is everyone doing? If there is a replacement part number and source, that would be great!!
One popular option is to install the SeeLevel Gauges. The manufacturer site is here SeeLeveL Gauges by Garnet Instruments Ltd. - Model 709 (http://www.rvgauge.com/products/model_709.shtml)
One site that sells them is here SeeLevel Gauges (http://www.bestconverter.com/SeeLevel-Gauges_c_108.html)
The Foretravel tanks are so tall that each tank needs 2 sensor strips for an extra $56.00 each.
If you do a search on this forum for seelevel and sealevel you fill find several posts.
Good grief-- So everyone is moving away, or has moved away, from the Javalina monitoring system? I just need a sensor and my system otherwise works fine. I've been searching and have seen very little posted on issues with sourcing parts, etc. I have a 10 year old rig and cannot get a replacement part and have to abandon a working system.... :-(
With corrosion buildup that my brass sensors had I wondered if that was what was causing the false readings.
Please advise what you are doing or have done with failed sensors-- Thanks!!
This is the first we'd heard of the sensors not being available. I recall the original mfr stopped making them, but FT had found a different supplier a few years ago. We last had ours replaced in early 2010.
If FOT is out, you might see if MOT parts has any stock available (if you haven't already tried that option).

You should be able to get spare Pressure sensors from Foretravel. It is the Javalina Computer that is not available.
Here are the adjusting sensor instructions.

Michelle, that is what I wanted to hear ... I just panic'd a little. I think that the parts rep at FT didn't really know what I needed, I forget that they are more focused on production. I'll call MOT and get some ordered..
thanks!
is there a part number for the sensor? I heard that the sensor may not be brass anymore?
Appreciate the help--
Our records are in the coach, stored offsite. The sensors are all the same for fresh, black, and grey. I'd think either FOT or MOT parts would know what you'd need.
The newer ones have a black cap on them; the originals (in our coach) were white. I don't know what the body of the sensor looks like. See the photo below

Here's a handy, home-made manometer tool that MOT uses to calibrate the waste tanks:

I ordered one in 3/10 and Foretravels part number was 5001005001 $45.00
I was having problems with mine, the tapes coming unglued from the tank. spoke with Mike Rogers at MOT and advised to carefully remove the sensors and clean them. I found some similar aluminum tape ( made sure it was conductive tape ) at a hardware store and retaped the sensors. They have worked fine since. I did have to recalibrate the tanks. These were the brass sensors and it has been several years now. You may also try to call javelina for replacements if your sensors are not salvageable.
got em ordered at MOT-- $45/each. thanks for all help-- My old ones were code dated 2001 (brass with teflon tape for the threads)
When you reset the tank sensors, do you affect the temp sensor or the propane sensor? I didn't see any ref to those in the materials, just being sure...
It resets just the tank sensors.
