#1 cause of swollen batteries is overcharging.

Make sure you check that your inverter/charger is properly programmed/dip switches set.  Programming includes telling the inverter/charger:  Battery type (wet, gel, AGM), battery bank size (amp-hrs) and if no battery temperature sensor, ambient temperature.

Freezing of a discharged battery will also cause swelling, but again only of a discharged battery in well below freezing temperatures.

Your inverter/charger owners manual will give you the step by step procedure for programming the charging section of the inverter/charger.

Craig,
We have a Link 2000 in our M/H. It has a special book that is a supplement to the inverter/charge manual that Brett is referring to. You are able to make changes to the brain for type of battery, ambient temp. ect. All the changes can be controlled through the push pad and prompts through the screen. There is a chart that tells you what the "codes are" and is a must as there are too many combinations to remember. We are away from the M/H till the 15th of Jan. but will be glad to get you a copy as soon as we get back to the camper.

Will be glad to post on this site, so all can have, if I can figure out how to do that. (Michelle, help)

Hi Pamela & Mike,
Looking forward to your posting of the Link 2000 booklet. The more info we have, the better.
Thanks,

Raymond,

If you don't have the book about half of the features the Link 2000 has are hid. We were lost till we got our book even though the unit can be used in the defalt mode. The bigest help is being able to easily change the charge voltage as the average ambient temp. changes with the season.

Mike, is this the book you are referring to?
If so, I can upload a copy to the forum.

Craig, Raymond, & All,

Here is a link to the new version that Barry B and myself have found and looked over last night. It may be somewhat more clear to read than the scanned version.
