Anyone know where we can find these? We have several that need replacing as they tend to pop open whilst driving down the road :o I've found some that look similar but the shaft is not threaded like ours. Thanks
I have had these pop open twice while heading down the road. I used a vice grip on the pin and used a 7/16" wrench on the nut. Slightly hard to get behind the plate. Am I correct that you are talking about the pins, not the latch? Are yours too far gone to tighten? Once they are adjusted into the best locking position, you could put locktite on the threads and then tighten the nut.
I found that in checking mine, I pull on the front of the door and then the back to make sure both pins are secure in the latch. Tricky little devils.
Should have added that once you get the wrench on the nut, you can use the vice grip to spin the pin until it's tight. Easier than trying to move the wrench in that position.
We have one that actually broke off - the whole T handle broke off in the hole - that one definitely needs replaced!
I found a lot of these listed by Tri mark Corp ... I googled Tri mark. But I did have trouble picking the right replacement so I ended up calling them.
Thanks - I'll give them a call.
