To the right of the Primary Fuel filter cartridge is a tubular shaped glass fuel filter. It appears to be getting darker and darker in color which makes me wonder whether the visible screen filter inside the glass tube needs to be cleaned or replaced. It is not obvious to me how to disassemble it in order to replace the screen or clean it. Any ideas?
Hi Tim, The plastic filter to the right of the Racor filter # S3230P, I replaced mine, the bigger issue with it is the "O: Rings on it, they tend to get hard and leak. Racor # 300200 price about $35.00
Simple to change, if you have not done it yet, I recommend it as cheap insurance. as they have been known to have leaky seals "O" Rings, causing issues.
Cheers

This is my first post and hope the website shows up correctly. I have been learning so much from this site thanks to all the experts.
This is the website where I got the filter along with O-rings. They can not be taken apart for cleaning. Good idea to replace it before it gives you a problem.
Prefilter With O-Ring, 200 Micron - Diesel-Plus.com (http://www.diesel-plus.com/filters-air-fuel-oil/2651-prefilter-with-o-ring-200-micron.html)
Hi what is your filter # I had a problem with Raco seals and o rings I went to a 3270 Raco filter and got rid of the old fiter .
It does a great job .Water and Fuel .
Hope this helps you
Al
How did you disassemble the metal filter from inside the clear glass tube?
Tim, If your asking me about the disassembly of the filter, the 300200 is not a take apart item, it just needs to be replaced.
The beauty of the existing filter/pump is its ability to prime the fuel system, purge water etc.
All one needs to do is get the correct parts and it works as designed, trying after market fixes you wind up with poor luck. If you replace the system with any replacement, I do not know of any system that includes the pump in addition to the water and fuel filtering.
SO simple to fix it right the first time.

In case you can not find the proper Racor filters, you can call 804 375 3500 Central Diesel, Richmond Va. we purchase a fair amount of filters from this dist. I would think they sell retail too, the good part, they know what they are dealing with Racor etc..
