Anyone in Nac? Will be in sometime Sunday for a couple days. Then return next weekend
We arrive tomorrow for service Monday AM. We have offerings of course, it's our first trip with a Foretravel to NAC.
Dolly & Dave, will be great to finally meet up with you. May come in tomorrow unless I can talk DW into either a sailing leason or a couple hours on a Kyack...
Jeff & Carol
We finally made it to Homewood, IL and are staying at our son and his wife's house (see member map satellite view for actual house!) until we can find our own. Trip up was uneventful if you call traveling 400+ miles a day uneventful. But, we are here. . .homeless. . .but here.
Fantastic! I know exactly where you are and how to find you! You are really quite close to our grand kids in Yorkville, so it will be a snap to visit. I am relieved to know that you made it OK. Now ... all good thoughts to getting the Burrow to new owners so it can get back on the road fast, and you into new digs.
woke up this morning to this and wished we were back in Nac. We had the same weather going thru New Mexico after leaving Texas. What are we doing here???
John H
We arrived about 2:30, for our first visit to Camp Foretravel. We of course did a Walmart run and found the Azalea Gardens for tomorrows trip. Poured a sundower, and walked the lot, met a couple of owners. Walked the consignment line up as well, and see more up the street as well. This might be a very expensive trip. TBD
We are leaving Red River Army Depot and the Elliott Lake Campground in the morning. We should be in Nac by noon or so ...
Jeff's cataract surgery is scheduled for Tuesday morning, and we will stay there until he is pronounced "cured". I am anxious to see how the azaleas have "popped" since the beginning of the month!
The azaleas are in full bloom. Mize gardens gorgeous. We enjoyed the azalea trail especially in the area near the high school.
We should be back in Nac either very late this coming week or early the following week. Wish we could see what our coach looks like as it goes through the light conversion.
Michelle
Bob, thanks for update. Will take a stroll tomorrow.
Michelle, will see if I can sneak in and take some pictures. ?? ok??
If you like azaleas you need to drive to Tyler. The Azalea Trails will be starting within the next week, but they have already started to bloom.
Reese
Sample photos in Mize Azalea Garden at SFA University, backside of the Garden, across LaNana Creek, to other parts of the Arboretum trail. There is also the Children" Garden with bog plants on that trail down near Johnson Coliseum. Photos were Saturday. Still not quite peak. And an azalea drive in the town is marked with signs. Google Mize Azalea Gardens Nacogdoches or try this web site for the gardens, Ruby M. Mize Azalea Garden (http://sfagardens.sfasu.edu/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=9&Itemid=22)
Marilyn and I plan to arrive in NAC around midday on Thursday, March 22. We have an appointment for a small repair at FOT on Friday. We expect to return to home in Bellville, on Friday afternoon or sometime Saturday. We hope to meet a few folk while in NAC.
Look forward to meeting you, we enjoy your contributions to the ForeForum. Have been blessed to get to meet some members in the past couple of weeks....want to add you to those we have met. I think be glad you are not coming in on Tuesday for we expect heavy rain, 3 - 7 inches possible. If Marilyn enjoys the azaleas, I hope the rain and wind leave them with little damage. This is a beautiful time in East Texas and Nacogdoches. Will look at Camp FOT for you. Travel Mercies, Mike
Yes ... today there are cats & dogs raining from the skies. We expect to be here thru the week ... Jeff's post-cataract visits and the small matter of an untimely water leak coming from our refrigerator(!) will keep us occupied.
Icemaker water line? They're routed with a heater wire that causes the material of the tube to degrade over time (as we found out in 2010....)
Michelle
Trust his surgery went well. Now have fun keeping track of the schedule for the various eye drops. Once his vision is at 100% he can really begging looking for that Wrangler. Say hello to Jeff for Carol and me.
That's what I am thinking ... although MOT put in a new line (on our nickel) when we got this coach in July. I am thinking we should go there and make them look at it. Grrrrrr.
That would be the perfect opportunity for you to unhook the power, pull in the slides and drive the coach to MOT as Jeff rests on the couch!
I guess this should be moved to the "Women RV" thread!
Patrick and Alton took a look at our "leak" this morning. They were able to determine that it was caused by a major kink in the drain line for the ice maker ... I have always had a gob of ice at the rear of the ice maker mechanism ... that was not allowing the water to drain into the catch pan properly. I am thinking that when MOT slid the fridge back into place last July, the line was kinked and I have just been living with this issue until the major overflow yesterday. We will be here a bit longer while Jeff's eye settles and the floods subside ... good time to test what is going on.
Dave (J. D.) and Marilyn arrived at Camp Foretravel about 3:00 p.m. We have an appointment at 7:30 a.m., tomorrow to have a bit of work done.
It's siesta time right now.
Any sightings of our coach? It should be out of Justin's shop soon, I would think. Look for an '03 silver/red with new head/tail lights and a very tasteful "foreforums.com" at the top of the passenger and driver side windows (the signage thanks to Mark and Tanya Zettek :) ) We're anxious to get back to Nac and see it (and finish up the spring maintenance).
Michelle
No, haven't seen it. There is a 97-99 36' with headlights in progress. It looks like people are living in it. There is no MC number on it. There are a couple of coaches with conversions in place. None is yours.
Is yours likely to be in the FOT paint shop? Maybe I can get a photo tomorrow.
We are parked near Carol and Jeff. We remained "holed up" except for walking the dog.
I expect the service folk may finish our work pretty quickly tomorrow. I took the coach out for exercise early this week and found that the alternator had died. I got as far as removing it "most of the way" and decided to let the experts handle the job. I did verify that it was getting sense voltage from one of the batteries. It was receiving 12VDC from another wire when the key was on. It was supplying pretty much 0V to the isolator. We drove to NAC with the generator running and the boost switch engaged.
We may head back home tomorrow, or we might hang out until Saturday. We'll see how things go tomorrow.
That's its most likely location if it hasn't been finished yet. We are also getting the front Armorcoat-ed.
It might also end up in the fenced area opposite the main FOT and Wayne's shop when Justin is done, since we're not there and they like to keep the coaches safe until claimed.
txforetravel also has an '02, cream/gold with red (like the Savournins'), that started conversion this week. I'm sure Tom would appreciate photos if you happen to see their coach in process.
Michelle
Went to the paint shop. Couldn't get it in. Only door had a sign, "*Do not enter through this door*." All gates were locked. It looks like they were finished painting for today. See the second picture.
Too Funny!! FYI, Paint Shop is closed on Fridays. They work 10 hour days, 4 days a week and are off on Fridays. I think it's because they need the fresh air! Hence, why the door was locked!
JD, if you happend to be in one of the service bays or near David F. remodel shop, I think our coach might be in there. It looks just like Jeff and Carols. It's in for new carpet and a new slide bladder. Poke around before 4pm and you might find it! If so, snap a pic of the slide, carpet (interior) and the front (New headlights?)
thanks!
Your coach is at the Paint Shop now. David is waiting until the headlight stuff is done to do the carpet, so he will not have all that dust to deal with when he installs the carpet. Don't know why it was in the bay earlier, unless they did the slide bladder.
Thanks for the update! Yes, slide bladder or maybe they were tinkering with the Aqua-Hot and few minor things.
Love the eyes in Nac for all of us coachless!
Thanks!
Marilyn and I are NOT in NAC this weekend. We are at home in Bellville now. We had a quick turnaround to replace the alternator.
Fortunately, we were in NAC long enough to meet person to person several of our "Foreforum friends." :D We missed the Pourtravel meeting this evening :'( , but are pleased to be relaxing in our S&B home.
We were reminded by a few folk how fortunate we are to be able get to FOT from our home base in only four hours. Again, we were pleased with the experience in NAC. Again we are pleased to have Foreforum to communicate our experiences. ^.^d
We are in Nac and have been for the last 10 days or so. But we are leaving tomorrow thanks to James Stallings and the guys at Xtreme. We got the roof painted and our stairs repaired in two days! Great service! Of course our recently born granddaughter and my wife's need to get to Asheville ASAP was a factor. Thanks again James! Also great service at MOT (engine and drive train stuff) and at FOT (repair of dinette and a broken tile). Long time to be in Nac, but we got a lot done.
In an incredible stroke of luck, the previous owners of our coach were at Camp Foretravel during our stay. It was great to finally meet them and hear some first hand knowledge of our coach. One bit of welcome news was that the house batteries and inverter were replaced just before they sold it to us.
George, sorry to have left out so quickly but temp in NM around 40 - 65.
You recall you told me about Hal Burns in Santa Fe? What a coincidence, I used that info to help some folks that coming here that had broken down not far from SF and unable to get help otherwise than Burns!
Mike
We got in Saturday evening, have an appointment for Monday to get some work done We may leave the coach while it is worked on as we don't know how long it might take, but should know more tomorrow.
Should be at the factory next Saturday for our first visit. Hope to meet some of you there.
Mark and Tanya Z
I will be there next weekend the 22nd. Have an appointment at Xtreme then MOT and FOT for service and remodel... Should be a big bill.....ouch... THat is what I get for skipping a year....
Just arrived a few hour ago. Boy is it hot. Had to shut down the generator half way through the trip today because of a radiator leak again. I guess I will be getting that fixed this week also. I would do It myself but I have a lot of miles to go and I want it fixed right this time. Pretty cool seeing some of the new coaches up close for the first time.
Mark Z
See you tomorrow. Raining here and hot too. Covered about 550 miles today. 400 or so tomorrow....
John, can you please send some of that rain this way? We're really dry, and the fire crews are getting tired. Thanks.
We have been here at the factory all week waiting fo an ok from the insurance company to get our coach fixed, The rain sure was welcome as we only have the rear ac working and the front of the coach gets pretty warm by afternoon
Mark I was working at Lazy Days when you bought your coach and look forward to meeting you
Yes, I saw a bunch of red over Nac on my phone.... I heard it was raining hard at home too. Sorry about the lack of rain. Hope you get some soon.
Ron and Nancy, I look forward to meeting you also. I was over at Extreme hanging out with Gary Omel. He is getting a very unique headlight mod done. Got church in the morning and then we should be back at the coach. Stop by.
Mark Z
We look forward to meeting you. We have to go to Tyler right after lunch, but shouldn"t be gone to long. We have the o3 gray u320 with the red Dodge pickup
Parked right next to you I think?
Yes you are. Look forward to meeting you. Ron
Ron,
If you do not get over here to Xtreme with John S tomorrow, I will have to come over there to meet you.
I will be going over to Xtreme first thing in the morning but I will be in town for a couple weeks. I have an appointment here at FOT with David F too.
Rudy would love to meet you. We have a gray u320 2003 with a red dodge pickup mc#16919. I will try to get over to Xtreme tomorrow
Ron,
Missed seeing you today when I drove through the parking lot. We are inside one of Xtreme's stalls Tuesday but most folks can point me out so see you then.
Rudy, how long will you be in Nac? We arrive Friday at CampFT to pick up our coach.
Morning txforetravel,
I think we will leave on Thursday but there is a small possibility we will linger longer. If we are here, sure would enjoy getting to meet you too. Keep in touch.
It sure was a pleasure to meet you John S and Rudy. We will be here for a while yet and looks like you might be also.
Yes I will be here for a bit still.
We are on our way to Nac to pick up the coach and then on to Dallas. Maybe there will be a few folks at CampFt. Oh, and we are test driving an IH-45 if we get there early enough
I will be over at Xtreme if you want to stop by.
Do you have enough space in the Barn Mahal for one of those? It would be a shame to have to remodel after all the work put in the palace! ;D
Ha ha! We were thinking Prevost H3-45 when we were building the barn so the door opening is at 15ft. The width is more than wide enough to open slides on all sides of the coach and still have room to walk around the exterior of the coach!
We will be heading back to the factory on Sunday from Dallas to get the the generator repaired again.
Mark and Tanya
Sorry to hear that but give us a shout over at Xtreme when you get back.
