Title: service bay ribbed mat
Post by: David Smith on March 17, 2012, 05:40:15 pm
Hello;  My service bay is lined with a black ribbed mat.  The mat has split and allows spilled water to penetrate into the underbelly of the coach.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Try Lowe's or Home Depot.  They have a selection of materials to repair this area of the coach.

Is there any real value in the ribbed mat? I am thinking about doing away with it as part of repairing the area around the drop down door.

Bob, hi there. What I would do on the floor in that bay is take the mat out and spray the rubberised underbody paint on that area. It takes a couple of days to really dry but would give a better base and easy to clean and re spray if damaged. How is the work coming at Xtreme?? Say hi to Carol from Ruth and I. Nice meeting you while we were there, and any pics of the paint job?

George Stoltz (I think) relined the bottom of his service bay.  He posted some photos, I believe.  It looked great, and he replaced the ribbed rubber mat with new stuff of the same.

Hi John, No paint pics yet. A large area of delamination found on driver's side. So still in the repair mode. Hope your weather improves so Ruth can begin planting soon.
