NOOB here,
My wife and I are not fans of much fru=fru and want to change out the headboard in our new to us '94 U-240 GV. Does anyone know what is behind the mirror and material?
Thanks in advance
Steve
Not a fan of the bordello motif, eh? Looks like thin plywood. The headboard comes right off. Just remove the screws and pop it straight up.

Some of the headboards don't even have screws, just push up from the bottom of the headboard and it will slide right off. It more or less hangs on metal clips.
Steve,
Welcome to the Forum
Our mirror was glued in place and the only way to remove it was to break it in pieces. The wall behind the mirror is plywood. As stated the headboard is held on by screws and clips. We took a thin (seems like 3/16") piece of plywood, padded it, covered with matching curtain material. While we had the wall apart we installed a 1" thick piece of foam insulation then installed the new covered assembly along with the headboard. This made it a lot quieter.
There is lots of knowledgeable people here so don't be afraid to ask. We all were new at this at one time.

Thanks for the rapid reply's ! The extra insulation is a grand idea! I will probably make a removable walnut panel for the space.
Steve,
Where do ya'll call home?
With the U240, have you measured your ride height-- an often neglected item on any coach? Torsilastic suspension ride height adjustment (http://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=13936.msg79142#msg79142)
We live in the tall pines in the very small community of Foresthill, CA. Near the town of Auburn. I will check out the ride height... so much to do and learn. We have been pop-up campers for the last 15 years. This is a giant leap for us.
Steve, in 2007 we went from a two man pup tent and a Gold Wing to a Foretravel and I had never owned a diesel. Having this forum was essential to getting comfortable with this new lifestyle. We have now been essentially fulltiming for over two years. A Foretravel with the Foreforums was a great way to start the motorhome lifestyle.
