So when I was at a Navy campground the voltage went over 133 volts and the coach protected itself and shut down. When proper power was restored the ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) would not engage. Upon further inspection I found that the contactor on the unit was not pulling in. If pressed in manually I have 120v service and it stays in. Several successful connects/disconnects later it stopped working again. The generator contactor was disengaged. So here is the question: Does anyone know of a substitute contactor and where to get it. The manufacturer is of no help. Barry Beam's site has an excellent article on repairing the unit but the part number given is no longer valid.
The unit is a Parellax ATS 100.
Any help would be appreciated that could short-circuit the search (pun intended).

Keith,
The ATS is not difficult to replace and you'll enjoy better technology rather than trying to repair the existing unit. I replaced my ATS 100 with this unit:
RV Powerhouse - A Powerful Selection of Quality RV and Marine Parts (http://www.rvpowerhouse.com/product.php?id=179)
It's relay based and works great!
BTW, they also sell the relays to repair the unit you have, if you know the part no. upon removal:
RV Powerhouse - A Powerful Selection of Quality RV and Marine Parts (http://www.rvpowerhouse.com/category.php?cat=10)
I had a new Parallax ATS 100 installed; it lasted 4 days. I replaced it with a LYGHT, an LPT 50 BRD. It has worked perfectly for3 years.
Well, after I posted I found the Parallex ATS 501 on E-bay for $39.00 plus $20.00 shipping! This is the recommended replacement for the ATS 100. They have quite a few available so if anyone wants one just search E-bay for ATS 501. Others are selling them for $195.00 - $233.00.
Thanks for all the replies though.

I'm all for a good deal, but this price almost seems too good to be true? Seems as though the seller is either leaving money on the table or there could be issues? Let me know when you receive it and install. If this part is good, I may purchase for a spare!
Maybe a good idea to reread Don Hays info above.

The Parallax model is a good one. I've had mine for 4 years - no problems. However, I hdid ave to make an easy swap the functions to make the correct relay be default for my installation. The biggest benefit was to buy an ATS with DC coils on the relays in order to be rid of the AC fairly loud hum of the old ATS100.
I believe that the ATS 100 is original to the coach (1995), As to the humming noise I never had it with this unit. If it arrives before Thursday I will be installing it then and will post the result.

Keith,
You were lucky to find the $39.00 one on Ebay. Most on there today are above $180. But Best Converter has theParallax ATS501 50 Amp Transfer Switch (http://www.bestconverter.com/Parallax-ATS501-50-Amp-Transfer-Switch_p_124.html) for $179 and he is excellent to deal with and will give tech assistance over the phone.
