I need to get some of these. Mine thread on to the end of the lug bolt.
See the attached. Is the correct part number 001851? The covers I have look like this one, but the part number stamped inside is 00185. These are described as 33mm covers. What does the 33mm refer to? Thanks in advance.
George,
I bought mine here a few years ago.
ALCOA 33MM NUT COVER WITH INSIDE THREAD SCREW ON- 10 PK (http://www.truckerdeals.com/new/shop?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=149&category_id=41&keyword=lug+covers)
Regards, Mark
I got them here:
Alcoa 33mm chrome plastic hex lugnut cover, thread-on style (http://www.empirechromeshop.com/p-4588-alcoa-33mm-chrome-plastic-hex-lugnut-cover-thread-on-style-single.aspx)
I always buy a bunch, since they get tightened too tight by service people and crack, then loosen and fall off.
33mm is the size of the socket required to remove the wheels
I always remove my lug covers before tire service, just to avoid the extra cost of cover replacement.
You might want to consider the 0188 lug covers they are the same as the 0185 (screw on) but use a clamp that goes over the lug nut and the plastic cover screws onto the clamp. Much tighter and will not crack as easy as the screw on type. You can check them out on Alcoa's site:

Thanks for the info. I ordered some from Dave's recommended chrome shop. Tried Mark's (free shipping), but the order process was impossible (at least for me).
