Title: HWH leveling problems
Post by: bbeane on April 15, 2012, 09:12:23 pm
Any one found any gremlins in the system (1999 U295 model 600 HWH system) that the factory HWH service manual doesn't address? All fuses are good, power on the red Bat+ and yellow ignition +, travel solenoids are working (gray wire 12+) with key on. No travel light on, when you push the on button all the lights on the panel light up, but everything goes out when the on button is released. the raise and lower does not work in the travel mode. All things point to a bad control board.

Unplug and replug the cable on the back of the HWH dash control panel. Clean those contacts.

We had a problem with our leveling system. We were good in travel mode, but couldn't level when stopped. I unplugged/replugged all cables and fuses. There was still no joy.

I called HWH and described symptoms. The tech was knowledgable and suggested that I check supply voltages. All checked out OK, but it still didn't work. I sent the unit to HWH. They fixed it in about a week and charged about $60. There was a loose connections to one of the pins in one of the connectors.

A narrative of my experience is here: HWH Travel Light is Intermittent (http://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=14458.msg85927#msg85927)

I have checked the cable and pin connections on both the panel and control board, no joy. I talked to HWH yesterday, a tech will be calling me back this morning. I did ask about the price of a new control board $1096.00 ouch, called FOT the price was $1600.00 double ouch. The FT parts guy did however say that when HWH tech person called back to ask him about sending mine in for repair as J.D. did. For that kind of $$ board and panel will be going back to HWH for repair. Tonight I'm going to chech the cable from between the board and panel with a meter to make sure no issues there. We also have an electronics repair tech here where I work may let him take a look at it before I send it in.

Make sure the pressure switch on the rear manifold is working, it actuates at 85psi,(not sure if it is normally open or closed, that would be a question for Randy at HWH) when it senses a loss of air pressure I think that will turn off the travel light and on mine I think it starts the alarm to warn of air pressure loss. I'm not sure how it will affect the system when it has actuated. Just something to check!

Talked to Randy at HWH (Very Helpfull) he gave me some more things to check, including unplugging the front and rear pressure switches, and checking the blue ground wire at the control panel. Going to check it out some more tonight.
