Well, this trip has been eventful so far. Yesterday started with my camera getting knocked under the Air Seat. Well, you can guess that the first bump caused a crack... Ouch, Nikon will be getting a D700 in the mail soon for service.
Then I went to visit my brother in law. The main bridge was out so I have to take a detour. It was 6 miles on soft gravel. No place to turn and when I hit the soft spots the coach would almost stop and I would have to hit the throttle to keep going. Well, I pulled into his drive and went to unhook the jeep. Ouch.... both fog lights were smashed and one headlight was cracked. Then not he way out this morning, I took a short cut and only had to take 2 miles of gravel. I got 275 miles down the road and stopped for lunch. I came back tot he coach and it was raining and the ground was covered in red. I get down on the wet ground and see the anti freeze spraying out. I put in a gallon and called Cummin Central Power and they gave me directions. I got there and was down about half a gallon. They took me in as soon as I had the Jeep unhooked and fixed the stick hose that was leaking. No real wait, great waiting room and happy techs that let you in the bay and talked to you. So if you are in Eastern Iowa and need service they handle motorhomes and are on I 380 exit 17, in Cedar Rapids.... This is not far off I 80 and they had 4 motorhomes in their bays so they work on a lot of different coaches. Hope the rest of the trip is uneventful though.
Gee John , you have different fun than most folks . Lights--camera --action-- no coolant . Well you almost made it . Take care , Brad Metzger
Well, I do have the new D 800 on order so I am not too upset. The guys at Cummins there fixed me right up and today has been all rain and wind...
