The light for the adjuster for the curb side Ramco mirror is burnt out or loose. I used to tap it and it would go back on. Now it's off no matter what I do. This light is on all the time once the ignition is engaged. I looked at it, but decided to stop as I did not have a lot of time to work on it. And, there are several wires that plug into this unit.
I need to label all these wires carefully so I can put it back together. Has anyone ever changed out a light bulb in one of these?
Peter
Peter,
I changed my bulb two years ago so the memory is a little dim (no pun intended). You should see a small access panel on the unit that you have to remove to insert the bulb. It uses bulb 1703 from FOT. I do remember it took awhile for me to figure out where the access panel was located. If I have some time I will try to pull the unit and refresh my memory.
Brad is right. It's a on the radius of one of the edges with a slight lip sticking out so you can use your finger nail or a screw driver. That little module pulls out and on the end of it the bulb is plugged into it.
Thanks guys...So I don't have to unplug all the wires and remove the unit to perform the bulb change?
Peter
Peter,
All the wires do not have to be pulled loose, at least on mine I had enough slack to work without removing.
Thanks,
Peter,
Just changed one of mine recently and it is exactly as everyone said. Just feel for the little door and it will pop open and you will see the bulb. I replaced mine with a #2723 bulb from EiKO brand from O'reiley's . Piece of cake!
Good Luck
Jerry
Jerry,
That's a good find...Thanks
Peter
