I think I need to adjust the time the glow plugs fire on my genny. I've read a few posts and have the manual Dave provided on the ES-52. But which of these is the ES-52? I'm thinking it's the hard to get at one next to the blower in the side compartment. Has anyone tried to adjust one of these original units or is it necessary to replace it? Thanks.
One more related generator question, at what voltage does the generator auto start engage?

Jor,
Looks like the ES-52 is the one over the alternator next to the two breakers (the ES-52 board has the status/trouble LEDs on the back of the board). If you open that box, you will find the ES-52 circuit board. The DIP switches and adjusting trim pots are on the back side of the board (the side away from the LEDs).
Thanks, Dave. I was afraid it was the other one. They both display lights indicating low oil, high temp, over crank and engine running. The one on the generator also has one for pre heat so I guess that's the one. Wish I had better manuals for this generator. Thanks.

FT had a recommended kit which moved the ES-52 board over to the bay with the blower. I'm surprised you still have status lights above the generator. The box in the bay is mounted with four bolts. You reach the nuts from the ground behind the headlights.
FWIW, the time delay for the glow plugs is adjustable from 0 to 32 seconds.
Highly recommend reading the manual when experimenting with the ES-52.

Does this kit relocate the whole control box or just a board? It's certainly subject to a lot of shakin where its mounted.
Thanks, Chuck
All the controls are moved to the blower compartment, leaving only the voltage regulator and circuit breakers on top of the generator.
