Title: 1991 U300 Unihome toilet replacement
Post by: rvcoupleuk on May 30, 2012, 03:54:56 pm
Hi everybody, we need to change our toilet on our rv but need advice before buying a new one as have concerns whether another one will fit. At the moment it has original galaxy/starlite.  The concern is the space at the back of the toilet as there is only 1/2 inch between back of toilet and cupboard. Has anybody had there one replaced, are there any modifications required?
Thank you in advance.

We have a different toilet in our 93 but if yours is anything like most RV units it is not too much trouble to remove the shroud around the pedestal. If so, remove it and measure the distance from the back of the pipe fitting going to the tank and the cabinet. New toilets should have a diagram on their web site showing the required space for installation. I know from changing out the toilet in my U225 that configuration and space is a real concern.

And I found with Kent's old coach with the new toilet, now installed on new tile floor, that the door behind would not open.  I had to remove the toilet and then the door and cut it shorter.  All is good now, so do check the total height if you have a door behind the unit.

Andy & Liz,
I have the same year, make and floorplan as you.  My coach has a Sealand Traveler (short version).  I think the model is a 500.  It's all porcelain and I believe it's original.
