Stopped by a place in Austin to check out a Country Coach bus. Had never been inside one. Got there and the Country Coach was located in a different lot, but low and behold they had a '97 40' U320 that they're cleaning up for sale (97K miles and 1092 hrs on 10K PT)! Man, the M11 looks like a beast compared to my C8.3. Really liked the layout. Someone had replaced the recliner with a love seat bench that also folds into a small bed. Been looking for a config that would sleep 5 more comfortably so it was perfect. They were doing a pretty major "make ready" on it when I toured it. They are asking $49.9K. I plan on going back when the make ready is complete. If it inspects and drives well, I may offer my U295 in trade!
I'm going to have to do some research on how to evaluate Aqua Hot performance and some of the chassis systems I'm not as familiar with. There weren't any glaring bulkhead issues such as large separation, but just visually inspected it.
Figure on a 5k budget for repairs. More if the windows seals have not been fixed. Which inverter?
Which exact engine? Is the Valve cover red?

Yeah, I'm probably kidding myself at this point. Somewhere in the $40s is more than I'm willing to spend at this point and we're considering putting our U295 on the market until the kiddos are a little older. Just tough to travel with a 2 year old who needs a 2-4 hour nap in the middle of the afternoon.
There were a few windows that had what looked to be the gasket sucked into them. Is that what you're referring to? I think it was a Heart inverter, but not sure what model. I'll have to look. They had freshly painted some of the engine components, probably hiding a little rust. The top was red. I thought all U320's of that vintage had the M11 which had a red top?
There was a running change I think sometime in the 97 run to the redtop 450. Anyone have a 97 with a 400?
