Title: Head light malfunction
Post by: Gary Bouland (RIP) on June 17, 2012, 05:58:08 pm
Before I start on trying to figure this out maybe someone has had the same problem.
Two Weeks ago I replaced the 9007 Headlight bulb on the left side.  I checked them out and all was well.
Prior to this weekends trip when I checked the lights I find that I have no LOW BEAM Headlights.  In addition the indicator in the dash is on saying that the HIGH BEAMS are on no matter if they are or not.  When clicked there is no LOW BEAM and indicator stays on.
I will get into it later but I cannot think of a scenario where changing out a light bulb would cause this.  Is it just a coincidence ?  These are standard 9007 light bulbs.
For some reason that I can't explain I have in my mind that the switch in the steering column has failed.
Any thoughts ?

Gary, you need to check your bulb #,it should be a 9004 if you have the Ford truck light's. ^.^d

I hereby nominate myself for the Dumbass award of the day.  It is with humility that I accept and I appreciate that the competition is great for this rarely awarded award.
I misread the Bulb Number for the Headlite bulb as Bill says and wondered why the bulb was so hard to install.

I'm glad they don't actually give those out.  I'd need a big shelf.
