Title: FM antenna
Post by: Dean & Dee on July 11, 2012, 05:23:07 pm
Does anyone know of a resource for the FM roof antenna. The swivel base plate is there but the antenna is missing. I think they have a flexible spring on the bottom.

I will post a pic later. I am sure it's an AM/FM antenna. The CB antenna is on the opposite side. The base is very similer to this one I found on E-bay except it's mounted on the roof over passenger side.

NEWMAR RV am/fm Stereo Radio Top Side Rear Mount Spring Pivot ANTENNA Brand New (http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEWMAR-RV-am-fm-Stereo-Radio-Top-Side-Rear-Mount-Spring-Pivot-ANTENNA-Brand-New-/320941688684?hash=item4ab99d876c&item=320941688684&pt=Motors_RV_Trailer_Camper_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr)

I am actually thinking about replacing it with one of the rubber coated flexible marine antennas.

Dean, When I destroyed mine on the trees on the Blue Ridge Parkway I called FOT and they had one in stock.  I believe the price was about 30 bucks.

Thanks Gary, I considered checking with them but the reason I am thinking about going to the marine type is that they are pretty indestructable and are much shorter (about 16") than the stainless one above which are about 30". Not sure how tall FT's oem one's are.

Maybe I will just go old school and stick a coathanger up there. ;D

We were in Asheville NC shortly after buying the coach. I wasn't brave enough to try the parkway with the coach. we did take the toad up though.  The road getting up onto the parkway from the campground was so twisty that I think you could see your own tailights on some of the corners. :))

Dean, I installed the 31" ss with spring base from CB Radios & Antennas – Cobra CB Radio, Ham Radio Antennas, Police Scanners (http://www.wearecb.com/) for 15.99 and I didn't pay shipping because I live a couple miles from the business. They said that they sell a lot of them to motorhome builders.
Model # 44US71
31" universal antenna heavy duty stainless steel spring.
