Title: Dash A/C control lites
Post by: Fiddler on July 14, 2012, 02:21:32 pm
Voids in the back lighting for the dash ac control knobs.  Can't determine where the lighting is coming from after looking at the reverse side of the control knobs.  Specifically, the Fan control only lights the low setting icon;  The Vent settings don't lite at all; and the Temp control knob barely lights a small area in the red area.
Does anyone know how to fix this lighting issue.  The only thing I can see is a rust colored connector (see pic) with black and white wires attached; however I can't see how to remove it to see what's inside.  Look forward to any help from our group.

BTW,  I took 2 pics' 1 of the front side of the ac controls; and 1 of the reverse side.  However, I've never attached pics to my posts so hopefully they attach as intended.

On my 1999 I think that part of the dash lighting is part of the Javelina dash, and can't be repaired. Will the halo lighting round the outer edge of your dash still work? It looks like a ac control for a 1999 Ford f150 with two switches reversed? Gam

2001 model does not have "halo" lighting.  The other dash lights are working OK albeit the gauge lights are a bit weak as they've always been.  Too bad there's not a way to convert to LED's for a brighter reading visibility at night.
