Title: 12V plug next to ign switch
Post by: El_Dorado on August 09, 2012, 02:05:48 pm
It stopped working. Tried to locate fuse under dash cover but none are labeled for that then looked on the bed pedstil...not there either. So I tried to find the fuse in my wiring diagram...not there either. Anyone know where to look?
Thanks,
Steve

Steve,

In my '92 U-280 that fuse is under the dash cover, behind the steering wheel in the 12 V fuse tray. It is labeled "lighter" in the chart stapled to the underside of the dash and is in the second column from the right and is the second fuse from the top. It is a 20 amp fuse.

Hope this helps.

Same place as Gary's on my U225. Good luck! :)

Don & Craig Thanks
All I can say is I must have had a giant brain fart for not seeing that. It was right where you guys said. Don't know whey I did not see it, except I was looking for 12V outlet not even thinking about a cigarette lighter (I don't smoke).  It was popped and replacing the fuse did the trick. Good thing because we are leaving on a trip tomorrow and I use that plug for my GPS

I had to find mine.  Did you know in the dark of the warehouse parking area, that you can stick the ignition key into the empty lighter socket easier than finding the key's actual home?
