Title: light switch problem
Post by: Gerry & Anna Richer on September 27, 2012, 01:42:13 pm
I have anb 2003 U320 4200, and occasionally when putting on a light, the whole master switch control begins to flicker and various switches come on at the same time. I assume it is a ground issue but I am at a loss of where to begin to look. Any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Geranna?

I've noted similar crazy light button flashing patterns when I inadvertently splashed water on a light switch panel. It dpes seem to return to normal operation it has once dried out. You might look for any water on all of the panels.

Thx Jim,
Ihave checked for water, doesn't seem to be the problem, I keep turning the master switch on & off from various locations in the coach and eventually it goes back to normal, then happens again a few days later. Stumped.

Gerry,

Are your lighting controls located below the fridge?  I believe that's where the Intellitec lighting "brains" would be located in an '03 (we don't have that option in our coach).

If so, check that area for loose connections (and possibly moisture if the controls are located there - you never know if the icemaker line to the fridge might be leaking, especially if it's original).

Gerry,

You might try to isolate the problem by disconnecting switch panels. If you discover it to be from a certain switch panel, it is possible to make a repair. Intellitec no longer supports these panels nor probably Foretravel. The problem also could be elsewhere - possibly in the wiring or connections.
