Today I installed the new batteries for my awning. The remote that came with my coach may not be the remote for this awning. It does have open/close/stop on it. I opened it up and there is no pin nrs. It could be a garage door opener???? It is an Allstar 318 commercial transmitter. I am thinking the prior owner could have used this remote to open a storage door and it is not the awning remote as I thought. What do you have and the model nr.??? tks DAN
Dan - I will be going by my MH in the next day or two and will check the remote control for my autoAwn and get back to you.
Dan I have our old remote from our zip dee auto awning. I will look at it this weekend but I will also have it with us at the GrandVention. I would bet that it works on yours or a few dip switch changes and it will work for you!
Txforetravel: Tk U any help will be appreciated. DAN
Our remote is an Allstar ... 3 white buttons that indicate Open, Close & Stop. It also has a white imprint of ZipDee Autoawn printed on the front and a belt clip on the back. The back shows that it is a Model BA8833T remote unit. Could be that yours is a replacement unit?
Carol/Chappell/Txforetravel: As one of you suggested this morning I called Jimmy at tech support Zip Dee. What a nice guy. He led me through replacing my 3 amp fuse (blown)/ Draining the water out of the arms/ how to oil and the awning works like it should. He indicated to use the awning/ not to let it seat for long periods of time but works best when used regularlly. Since my remote has a broken battery holder inside I ordered a new one as Jimmy is going to program it for my coach before they ship it to me. I really like the way this awning comes out and in. Hope it will continue. I asked Randy who took my order for the remote about the Allstar and his is not an Allstar. But the one I have is a mod 318 "Commercial Transmitter" nrs on back: MD1007 and model 190-111662. Not sure if it is it or not but if I can get my hands on a soldiering iron I think I can fix it. DAN
Excellent!! Now that we have our awning working as it should, we are not anxious to change. We do use it fairly often, as Jimmy suggested. Our whirly gizmo on the roof was broken when we bought this coach, and we do not intend replacing it. I just keep the remote handy when the awning is extended and pay attention to the weather. Jimmy is awesome, and ZipDee has always been very helpful to us and easy to work with when we needed something. Glad it is all working out for you!!
