Nice but I'm thinking it my not help us.  We'll be at MCD Monday morning for measuring/ordering.  It's looks like this is a mail-order only plan.
I printed it out and we'll see.  Whatever, we're sure looking forward to getting them installed right after the GV.

Which model is the best choice?  The American Duo or the less expensive Gold Series.

The website says the American Duo is the latest and greatest while the Gold Series is a less expensive alternative.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Gold is actually the new product; a lower price-point than the entry-level Duo (which we have).  The vinyl choices (the base level) appear to be the same (we have B33, boucle' embossed design in a warm off-white).  I didn't see any specifics on what the roller/mechanism differences were (other than Gold Series is GlideRise and American is GlideRise IV).  That would be the question.

We updated our Duos to the GlideRise IV mechanism at a cost of $50/window this past spring - had problems with failed rise rate on 2 windows (out of warranty).  We were told by Dave Townsley that the GlideRise IV is a serviceable mechanism should that happen again, the previous generation was not.

ETA - I read through the descriptions and I think with the Gold you have to take the blinds down if you want to adjust their tension/up speed.  With the GlideRise IV, IIRC there are adjustment wheels on the ends of the rolls that you can turn with the blinds in place should you need to adjust the tension or stops.
