Title: Block Heater ISM
Post by: Brad on November 05, 2012, 11:40:13 am
I need to know if anyone has found a replacement for the engine block cord for a ISM?  I started to track down the short in the block heater circuit and it is in the cord itself.  I would like to see if anybody has just replaced the cord or the should I just go ahead replace the heater including the cord.  I do not know if Foretravel installed the heater of if it came from Cummin's already in place.

Thanks,

Mike Grimes, FOT, found the part number for the cord and ordered one for me.

Fleetguard 251919 or http://www.ryderfleetproducts.com/ryder/af/ryder/core/content/product/srm/key/V52-251919/pn/Replacement-Block-Heater-Cord/erm/productDetail.do (http://www.ryderfleetproducts.com/ryder/af/ryder/core/content/product/srm/key/V52-251919/pn/Replacement-Block-Heater-Cord/erm/productDetail.do)

Thanks,

Brad,
Hope the replacement cord works, usually when the cord burns up, the heater element is shorted and a new cord will also burn due to the high current load.  In our business, when a cord burns, we replace the heater assy complete for a no hassel solution.
Got yur PM
Cheers
