Has anyone done this. David at FOT indicated about $4,000 but that seems like a lot just to trade out a sofa. Is there more to it than I know? Tks DAN
Hate Jack bed and want sofa bed with air mattress, wondering if room to walk around end of bed with opposing cabinet to slide unit
In Foretravel dollars, doesn't sound high, but probably lower cost options available - keep us informed -
You are pretty close to Mexico as well...
I agree that it doesn't sound high, given the price of Villa furniture. Our D/P seats were $2300 and $2700, respectively.
It may be challenging to find something with a pull-out mattress that would fit with only one front slide. If the issue is the comfort (or lack thereof) with the existing jack knife sofa for the occasional guest, what about buying an air mattress to put on top of the sofa? I'm guessing a full size would be about right.

I use one now, we would like queen, do we can travel with another couple
If you haven't tried an AeroBed blow up mattress, I think you would be pleasantly surprised. The one we have has similar support to a Sleep Number bed.
Have the Aero bed etc. but it is a hassle and placing it on the jack sofa makes it too high. I have measured and the fold out sofa will go in just fine. So it appears not a lot of experience in this change out has occured, yet many sob's have the fold out sofa bed. May have to let FOT install as I know when they are finished It will be of good quality and a fit. DAN
That is cheap. I replaced my sofa a few years ago to the J sfa so there were two of them. It cost 10 k just to buy the two with shipping.
Drinks for six, dinner for four and sleeps two. That's our motto in our coach! No need for a second bed!
When I purchased my Phenix from FOT it had the jack sofa bed and I made it part of the deal that they had to change it out with the pull out air mattress sofa and they ordered it from Villa and did the change out before I took possession. Don't know what it actually cost but I was told it was expensive and they did a great job and I am pleased so let them do it.
Since we pulled the two sofas out and put in recliners we don't invite adults to overnight with us. However, since the flooor was made for kids we do have the grandkids over and they do fine in a sleeping bag right there on the hardwood.
Larry,
Carol and I have discussed removing sofa and replacing with recliners. Would you be able to post pictures? Also, would like to replace dining room dinette seats with chairs. Can't get four of in that area any longer...50 pounds ago they would have been fine... :-( :'(
Anne and I did that. Check the archives for pics.
We did not like the booth dining area in our 320. Paul the salesman at Foretravel told us that if we took out the dinette and put in chairs we would fall off the edge of the slide out. We took out the booth and put in 2 chairs. We have not fallen off yet and that has been a year ago. Also he told us he would charge us some extravagant figure to remove them. We took them out ourselves and have not been sorry at all.
