We bought our first FT last Tuesday at MOT. She is a 1997 U295 #C1604A. Many thanks to my salesman Mel and the entire staff at MOT. Everyone that we dealt with were first class. Also I could not have had a better liaison than Mike Harbordt. We "camped out" at MOT for 4 days before we drove home to Florida (635 miles). We had a transmission problem but it seems to be working OK now after I cleaned the speed sensor connectors. We LOVE our new FT!!!!!
Terry & Cheryl Brown
Congratulations and many happy miles to you both!
I am sure that MOT gave you there after hours technical service line - keep it handy, it will save you a lot of $$ and aggravation.
Damn! Wish we would have known. Would have invited you over for a drive through of camp Foretravel. Lots of us over here. We would have loved to see your new ride.
Congrats on your new to you coach. You're going to love it! Be aware there is a fairly large learning curve. Just remember no pain no gain... :D
see ya

Congratulations on your new purchase. The 1997 Foretravel was a very good year. And welcome aboard.
Congrats,
I sure like my 1996 u295. I think you will too!
Congrats! Good group of people getting together this week in Sarasota at Sun N Fun Resort....
Where you located?
Hi Ken and Dori. Terry and Cheryl were on a whirlwind trip. They did manage a tour of the factory but in short order narrowed three coaches to one, took first ride ever in a FT, camped out a few nights in it, see how things fit. Headed out Saturday morning for home. In Mississippi had a bit of a hiccup that I was not able to solve via phone call but suspected it some bad connection. They got that fixed, hit the road.
They had to leave their car here in Nac and I am planning to drive it over to Shreveport La so Terry can fly in and drive it back home. Just too much for them to drive the FT and the car on their first trip. I do wish I was closer to them, be there to help them and me learn. Maybe some of our members are near where they live, can go by. You just cannot learn it all from MOT giving you a one time instruction.
What lovely folks. Reminds me too that one day Jackie and I with Terry and Cheryl also got to meet Robert and Diane Hoops, went to lunch. Lot I could learn from Rob. Then helping Randall Sunday with his coach, out to FOT, ran into and got to get a hug from Jeff and Carol and meet Ken and Dori. More great folks. I think must be on the application to buy a FT?
My good friend Don bought a 1999. He needs to report on an episode he had, I discussed with Ken though about brakes. Otherwise I visited with Keith Davis about an issue with the 8.3, a diesel leak. Those tend to vibrate the pickup fuel pump bolts loose. If you get a leak on the side of the engine, not sure where to look, give that area a try. Keith suggested you check those bolts periodically. I can send you photo if need.
Cheers, and have a great week, Mike
That is wonderful. You will love it
That U295 was our trade in. We loved that coach but decided we wanted a slide and aqua hot. We had a transmission fault with that connector several years ago in Topeka. After driving in the rain we stopped for the night and the next day it wouldn't shift out of low. Waited a while trying to figure out what to do and it started working. Had the connector checked when we got home and they said all looked fine. Never had another problem with it. That was our third Foretravel. If it is as trouble free for you as it was for us you've just made a wise choice.
Terry and Cheryl, Welcome aboard. If you have not alreadydone it be sure to call Beverly at FT and ask for your one year free Motorcade Membership. The next MC event is in Brooksville, FL in FEB just prior to the FMCA SEA Rally. Would love to see you there.
Gary B
Thanks for the up-date on the transmission. We love the coach!!! Any info on service or mods that you did would be greatly appreciated.
Terry
Thanks Gary we did join the FT Motorcade Club. Hope we can make the rally.
Terry
How about the one THIS week.
Gary, Pardon my ignorance but when and where is this MC event in Feb? Don't see it on the MC listing.
Larry, DW has the calender and is out right now. The Prerally to the FMCA Rally at Brooksville, FL is at the Scout Reservation west of Brooksville. When I can get the exact dates I'll post them, and Dave is right there is a FL rally this weekend in Sarasota I believe.

I'll bet it's a chapter rally rather than a national MC event.
Organizers can feel free to post rally announcements in "Discussions" and a moderator can "sticky" them until the event is past so they get good visibility :)
Michelle
Your right, It is a Florida MC chapter rally. Dates are FEB 3 and 4 with caravan to SEA Brooksville Rally the 5th. SEA Details are in the FMCA Magazine.
BTW, After 15 years this will be the last PreRally at the Scout reservation and the Brooksville SEA rally will move after this year also. Pat Brewer has been responsible for this Prerally for its entire term. It will be interesting to see what rally is like in the future. Pat deserves a big Pat on his back for all his efforts.

Congratulations! I know y'all will enjoy. Now we have to go camping. Don and Dona
Sounds great Don, I would like y'all to come down to Niceville and see her after I do some cleaning and waxing the exterior.
Terry
Congrats Terry. We love our 97 U295. I've never been tempted to look at another coach. It just really suits us.
Bob,
You put it into words I understand and agree with,
"Never been tempted to look at another coach. It just really suits us."
Says it all, Thanks
Have upgraded TV's, Caramic floor, Electric blinds 1 Windshield 1 Door blind. Xtreme 100% paint, many fiberglass upgrades and all LED lights, etc. etc. Assume no one else would like it, that is just wonderful for us.
Merry Christmas
