Title: Running Light LEDS - Replacement Bulbs
Post by: Tim Fiedler on December 04, 2012, 12:33:50 pm
OK, I saw the replacement bulb post for the running light LEDS - decided to buy 10 and replace my bulbs in the 2000 U-320.  Bad news, there are five in front, five in back on one on either side in the back, so actually 12 needed for total replacement.  Oh, crap thought I, I just ordered 10 from China, and the shipping costs were significant.  OK, so they show up, and I didn't realize that each "Qty 1" that I ordered was actually 10 buls, so when the box came there were 100 total bulbs!  I have used up the 12 and replaced all the bulbs in my coach (simple change out, two screws in each fixture, carefully pry away from body of coach, 1/4 turn on the light on the back of the fixture and the bulb holder comes out of fixture, pull out bulb (reminds you of old flashbulb for camera (i am dating myself), clean contacts, push in bulb, insert in fixture, two screws and back on.  Probably would have been better if I had the fancy grease to protect the contacts from corrosion, but was at NASCAR when I did this so they are up there without that protection.

After using my bulbs up and giving a few away to my Foretravel buddies, I am left with enough for three sets of 14 each.  If you are interested, reply to this post, and then PM me with your address and I will snail mail them to you.

I don't want anything for these, but would appreciate if you get these from me if you would consider a gift to your local Habitat for Humanity in the amount of $20 (more if you feel compelled).  These folks accomplish wonders on a very low budget.  I actually support the Avery County Habitat in North Carolina.  Or if you prefer, go volunteer for a day or more of service at one of their builds, all experience invited to participate.

First Come, first serve.  Not sure the years these fit, but suspect a wide range of coaches up until the factory started going with LEDS.

Hi Tim,
I got the LED's.
I tried a couple in the rear on either side of the center one for comparison.
It is a little dimmer due to them facing down only but should work fine.
Easy install
Thanks again.

Hi Tim,

Do you have a part number or web site where you got the lights from?

 Thanks, Richard B.

Tim, don't feel bad about the quantity error ordering your lights. A couple of years ago I ordered "Dog Booties" from Cabellas to protect Trip from the sand burs in West Texas. I didn't think the order went through so I places the order again. I thought the price was per bootie but it was for a set of all four booties. Both orders were filled and I ended up getting four sets of 4 X 2, a total of 32 XXL, Camo Dog Booties. Anybody else have a dog with XXL feet?
