Title: Dave L's coach purchase Re: '95 U-240 Grand Villa
Post by: Michelle on December 13, 2012, 10:51:44 pm
As many of you know Lyn Herron dies last spring from pancreatic cancer.  Margaret has finally decided to part with their coach.
Here is more information on the coach:

The engine is a 250HP CAT 3116.

The transmission is an Allison MD3060R!!!!!!!

The generator is a 6.5KW Onan Marquis WNHW

The refrigerator was new in 2008, so is basically unused.  It is double door with icemaker.

All tires were replaced in 2009.

Brett and Dave,

Based on this:

I saw this car in the garage when I went to get the u240.

I marked the classified as "sold" and deleted it.

Michelle,

Yes, I bought this coach.  Big thanks to Brett for his help.  My nephew and I flew to Houston on Sunday and drove to Beaumont.  Monday morning we went to meet Margaret, see/check over the U240, completed the transfer, and were on the road before noon.  We were home in Iowa at about 8:30 am Tuesday.  I think my head is still spinning!

It sounds like somebody just got a Great Christmas Present and a very good deal.

Congrats and welcome! Terrific buy, especially considering the Retarder and the assurance of advice from Brett... ^.^d

Boy, names can get you in trouble.

He means "the other" Brett, not me.

Welcome to the "family"! I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as we enjoy our "new to us" 1995 U320. (Purchased almost a month ago.)

You got a good coach. I knew Lyn for many years and he was a fine fellow. He took very good care of the coach, wish he had gotten to use it more.

Thanks everyone.  I have already found loads of good info on this forum and hope I can contribute in the future.  My wife and I are still shaking our heads at finding such a fine coach.  We will try to give it as good of a home as it had with Lyn and Margaret.

Welcome! We certainly have enjoyed ours. We have lived in it for the last four months and have had zero issues. Headed back to Texas in the next couple days and looking forward to the buddy rally in April.
