Title: How many square feet to recover front seats?
Post by: Pierce & Gaylie Stewart on January 25, 2013, 10:34:34 am
Our U300's front seats are in need of recovering. I know several of you have done yours and was wondering how many square feet each one is. We are going to buy leather hides to do it and know a typical house recliner will take 2 large hides but think that might be overkill for the smaller driver/passenger seats. Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

We had our two front seats recovered in UltraLeather and ordered the fabric ourselves.  We ordered 9 yards x 54" wide, and there wasn't much left.  We have the pockets on the back sides.  Ultraleather probably stretches more than leather...

Pierce,

Our dash and seats were recovered by the PO in June 2011.  I found a receipt for the work which shows 8 yards of Spradling softside  ISL -951 oyster (islander) and 2 yards of ORI- 1610 sand dollar (orion). A google search shows this to be a marine grade vinyl with UV protection and resistant to mildew,  etc.  I like the pinholes in the vinyl on the seats that allows them to breath and makes them cooler.  Materials cost $160 and labor was $180 which I thought was very reasonable for this type of work. The dash and seats look new and was a nice surprise when I found this coach!

Good luck!

Thanks guys. Looks good. Especially like the recover on the dash. Looks like about 8 yards plus one or two for the dash.
