Title: Remote Door Lock not working - Questions
Post by: Steve & Kathy B on January 28, 2013, 08:07:13 am
2000 U320. My key fobs have suddenly quit working to unlock/lock the door or basement locks. I have replaced the batteries in the fob; chased the wiring looking for any broken wires; the locks DO work using the toggle switch on my driver console.
I removed the panel in front of the passenger seat & located the security box. Using the info I found here, I tried to reprogram my fobs. Turn ingition on, then off, hold square yellow buttin down until a hear a short series of beeps... and that's where nothing happens. No horn, no siren. I held the button down for about 15 seconds and when I released it, the box just started going click, click, click, click, click, click for about 15 seconds. Dash lights flased on and off too.
Is time for a new security control box? New fobs? Source for items?

I'm told the fob is the second thing to go...welcome to the club. Time for a new coach?

I doubt this is your problem but I had that same thing happen to mine. I unplugged the power source to the box and plugged it back in and it has worked ever since. Kind of a hard reset I guess.

I replaced ours a couple of years ago when it started doing erratic things (or nothing).
I got an Autopage KE-120, which came with two fobs and has been doing fine. I can unlock the rig from 200 ft or more away, so range is now excellent Should you replace yours yourself, it's important to copy wire colors and functions from the old one (I think printed on the side of the old unit (? memory fades easily...) before you remove, and map to the new unit.
Cost at that time was ~$60 or so for everything.

My keyfobs are starting to act up also, however it looks like Autopage is no longer making/marketing the KE-120. I did find a link to the Installation Manual which may be helpful in the future... http://www.autopageusa.com/resources/KE120install.pdf
I did find this unit on discount ($34 down from $100) at: Avital 2101L (2101) Keyless Entry CSystem - Sonic Electronix (http://tinyurl.com/Avital-2101L). I'm considering ordering and evaluating how it fits.
