Title: brake pad numbers
Post by: Gary Bouland (RIP) on February 03, 2013, 07:26:56 pm
OK, Its been a long day and my brain is not functioning.
I need to replace the rear brake pads on my 95 U280.
I have searched the forum but have not found that any one has these numbers.
Does any one know ?
Also I need the numbers for the brake return springs.

Thanks
Gary B

I have 15615PM for the kit to service one wheel (two pads).  The Helper Spring Kit is 15018 (one wheel).

I found Fleetpride in Atlanta stocks these however the part number has changed.
The new # is KIT 15625 PM, the difference is that it is Two sets of pads ( 4 )  for one axle instead of one set ( 2 )  for one axle end. ( Clear ?) Price is 258.75

Spring # is the same at 152018 for 21.65 and Supposedly ? is four springs for two axle ends.

These sound like reasonable prices to me.
Any Comments ?

John, I am sure they would.  My recollection is that Meritor made a change in 91 and all after that date are the same. The chassis are essentially the same except for length.

FT Parts will always give you the correct part numbers and their prices.  They are usually quite competitive.

Sometimes FT Parts will only give us their internal part number, and will not tell us the manufacturer & part number. Maybe they only want us to buy from them?

John I called Fleetpride here in Atlanta, at 1-800-844-8370.
I believe that they have branches all over.

Thanks Barry, Reason I used Fleetpride is that they are local and I can pick up parts in an hour or so.  If I order from FT or other source I usually have to wait while they are shipped and if heavy shipping charges can be high.

I was just offering another option for John since he already had your source and the factory choices.
