Well, so much for keeping things quiet! Yesterday we made an offer and it was accepted. As I type this Jo Ann is on her way into town to get the mail and mail the deposit. Unfortunately, the weather shut down school yesterday and today, so I suspect that the Thursday and Friday we were to have off in March (which is when we planned to go get the coach) will be make-up days. We'll just have to see when we can go get it.

Thanks, all. I changed my signature and I think I have the right numbers for the build number. I had hoped that Weatherred's would have had the build number somewhere on their profile, but they didn't, so I got what I think is the right number from what they sent me. Once we actually have the coach here I'll send Barry a picture of the data plate and he can add it to his database.

Now that we know exactly what coach we will be living in we can more easily make decisions on what stuff will go with us, what stuff we need to replace, and what stuff needs to just go away. To this point we were saying that we would like to have this or that, but always there was the question of whether it would fit. Now we will be able to be sure.

Good luck with what to keep and store.  We have friends, that have been full timing for 8 years, with two storage units, one climate controlled, one not.  His cost for all, for 8 years is now almost $20K.  I helped them recently move things and clean out, and they are throwing away more things, every time in town.

You like so many are going to find out all the stuff we have is worth almost nothing.  We have tried to sell things, and  many things are almost not worth the trouble.  We are going to consider an estate sale, after taking the stuff we might store.

Thanks, Barry. Looks like I interpreted it correctly, and I assume you already have it in your database.

David,
Congrats on the purchase.  Now the real work begins, and that's what we're here for if you need to ask questions about the real deal.

Congratulations David,

The anxiety of waiting is over and the real learning curve starts now!  I've had mine for almost a year and there is still a lot for me to learn. Part of the fun is that it becomes an hobby/obsession that you can look at and be very proud.

Let me know if I can help.

Jerry

Jerry, my aunt and uncle lived in Gulfport for many years, and their daughters still are in MS. We'll be back down there eventually, and this time we'll get all the way down to Gulfport. We'll look you up then.

I was really impressed by how easy the coach was to drive. Granted, I've driven a stick-shift school bus with a bunch of teenagers on it, so I'm used to large vehicles, but when I drove the coach there was a 15-20 mph cross wind, and I had no difficulty at all staying centered in my lane. I didn't get into any tight places or really sharp turns, but I didn't have any curb checks, either. Good mirrors really help.

It just occurred to me: What an endorsement for C.M. Fore and his coaches: How many 20 year old SOB's do you think would generate the kind of excitement that Dave's '93 U-300 does? Few SOB's that age are still on the road. And we all know that his new (to him) coach will be cruising for many years to come.

Congratulations Dave.

Don Hay is exactly right. We all get excited when someone joins our ranks.

Welcome aboard. If you find yourself coming down I-44 sometime we have a 50 amp with water and sewer at the office  Easy to get in and out. You'd be welcome.

Don, you have hit the nail on the head. I think it is the bane of FT now. THey are building coaches that last so long that they are still going strong on the road years later. I think the remodel shop shows that FT acknowledges it too. They should use that for more advertising. Is your coach still on the road 20 years later adn look like this.

Hi Dave, Congratulations! ^.^d on finding a Grand Villa Coach, you will love the ride, eight air bags float you down the road with almost all of the noise way behind you. 8) We were traveling in our G.V., from Salt Lake City to Phoenix and ran into some 50 - 60  mph cross winds and the Grand Villas' low profile never created any side drift, while some of the Box Coaches were almost blown across the road. :o Our build number is just slightly higher than yours so they are most likely very similar. If I can be of any assistance please call or e-mail me and I will do my best to help.  Gerry  ^.^d ^.^d  Happy Trails
