I am in the process of upgrading the TVs and sound system in our coach. We have an extensive collection of DVDs so a system that can only play DVDs will suit us just fine and helps to keep the cost down. I have been following several systems on Amazon, and the Panasonic SC-XH170 5.1-Channel DVD Home Theater System Amazon.com: Panasonic SC-XH170 Energy Star 5.1-Channel 1000-Watt DVD Home (http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-SC-XH170-5-1-Channel-1000-Watt-Theater/dp/B0078GCLSS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1362323243&sr=8-1&keywords=Panasonic+SC-XH170+5.1-Channel+DVD+Home+Theater+System) recently went on sale for $169.99 down from $199.99 so I ordered one. I have it hooked up in the house along side our house home theater system to test it and become familiar with all the features. I must say, I have been pleasantly surprised with the performance. The surround speakers are small and the subwoofer is a passive (un-powered) unit, but for the money the system performance is impressive. In a few weeks I will be installing this in the coach.
Great...keep us posted. I want to do the same to my '93 GV U300
That looks really great! I am trying to decipher the language involved in putting together a system for our planned upgrade. We are looking at a "Smart" TV that we can use with a new sound system (old Bose unit finally died) and I am also debating whether to go to a Winegard traveler or to Apple TV. The shows we really want to watch can be had after-the-fact with downloads and if I upgrade to a Jack over the air system I can get pretty consistent reception for the "big 3" wherever I am. I just don't know ... I am a pretty confirmed TV junkie ... Can I really give up my DirecTV????
