Title: toad wiring
Post by: bill & jan velting on March 04, 2013, 08:44:49 pm
Is the 7 pin female receptacle on a '98 U320 the 'round' or 'flat' variety?  I need to purchase an adapter to get to 4 in line for renting a trailer.

Thanks in advance ~ Bill V

Bill,
On our '97 it is the round plug with the round pins. (not like the new style with flat blades) Yours could be diffrent though.

Thanks Pam or Mike,
That's what I sort of remembered, but wanted to make sure before spending the $$.  Most of the adapters now days are of the 'flat' variety.

I think you could find all styles of tow wiring sockets on our motorhomes. May even find some non-standard pin-outs for brake, parking & turn lights and ground, battery charging, toad brakes, etc.

If it is a 7 way bargman style it will have the flat pins, if a 6 way round will have round pins. unless some odd ball has been installed on it

For many years, the Bargman seems to be the standard for sturdy and relieable, the owner before my installed this type on my coach, glad he did.
