Title: Genset cooling system (pic added)
Post by: Dean & Dee on March 13, 2013, 10:52:31 am
While scouting out a place to route our XM antenna I had my head in the genset bay and noticed two valves with about 3/8" rubber hoses that tie into the genset coolent reservoir. Couldn't really see where the tubing went but the valves are in the closed position.

Anybody know what these valves are for and if they are supposed to be closed? I also found a leaky hose clamp at the radiator that I will replace today.

Aeration valves . They are for venting the Gen Set cooling system. Procedure for bleeding the coolant system on Powertech Generators (http://www.beamalarm.com/Documents/procedure_for_bleeding_the_coolant-system_on_powertech_generators.html)  I have Barry Beams foretravel motorhome technical help page as one of my favorites on my laptop.Gam
