Here is some info on installing a Luxe Bidet (Neo 320) on a Sealand Traveler toilet. We purchased the bidet from Amazon (Luxe Bidet Neo 320 (Elite Series) - Self Cleaning Dual Nozzle - Hot and Cold (http://www.amazon.com/Luxe-Bidet-Neo-Elite-Series/dp/B00A0RX2UI)). It fits the toilet perfectly and was not too difficult to plumb. Also, it is not electric like many other models. The bidet requires both hot and cold water, so I tapped into the adjacent sink 1/2" PEX water lines and used GatorBite T connectors. I then ran the 1/2" PEX under the clothes hamper where it was terminated with a 1/2" GatorBite FNPT adapters. From there I used 3/8 OD PVC tubing to the bidet using Watts Quick Connect adapters (PL3027 and PL3065). I bought all the connectors at Lowes. I drilled a 3/8" hole in plastic plugs and used them to line the hole through the plywood paneling for the tubing to the bidet. See the pictures below. The pipe insulation was used to keep the PEX and PVC from rubbing against other stuff.
Nice job George! Looks great. We'll need a male and female review after you've gained some experience. :)
see ya

Lots of good reviews on Amazon! Preliminary testing.... very good! We have a TOTO Washlet model in our Tucson home and it seems to be at least as good as it. It is a bit flimsy, so time will tell.
George
Our 1991 that we bought last summer had this bidet attachment installed. If you look closely, there is a small lever on the left that swings it out from under the bowl.
Yours is much nicer, this one is plumbed just to cold water. No one in my family has been brave enough to try it... :o
Never seen one of those in a COE campground. Must be those high dollar resorts, KOA, Jellystone, etc.....
OK George, us Okies are kinda dumb. Can you explain exactly how that "Bidet" thing works? I NEED details.
Yes Please a real detailed explanation. :)
Gary B
A lot of trouble just to wipe your a...
Roland
I agree that more details are in order, but please NO pictures.
I'm just waiting for Carol S to chime in. I'm SURE she will have a story or two!
This thread could go south very quickly! :).
But a cold water only bidet is just plain mean! George, I'm glad to see you opted for both warm and cold!
Tough crowd here? I am learning soooo much about what I need in my Foretravel search
I think you missed the point, or, rather, the part ;o)
best, paul
George ... I just don't know what to say. But now I know why you always seem as fresh as a daisy! And you can wash your feet in that thing, too, right??
Good going, Carol!
I was going to entitle my post....."Uranus and not the planet!" But I thought twice and chickened out.
George
Actually, Ken, we do have much experience. First bidet was in a home we built in Ann Arbor, MI back in the 70s, followed by one in an apartment in Belgium in the 80s. These were both the European style that Dave M's reference graphically described (with soap and towels available nearby). And yes, Carol, those were the type that you could wash feet--or socks--in! In the 90s, we remodeled a master bath in our Anacortes, WA home with the same free-standing style of bidet. In our New Mexico home in 2005, such a remodel was not feasible, so we opted for a Japanese brand (Toto) aftermarket bidet that replaces the seat/lid (http://www.totousa.com/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=301 (http://www.totousa.com/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=301)). As it only t's into the cold water line, it requires an electrical outlet for water temperature and pressure control. We brought this to the new winter home in Tucson, and it's a wonderful addition to the master bath. As it is integrated into the toilet, it is much more "efficient", and eliminates the soap-and-towel requirement (ok, that's TMI, as the kids would say! :P )
Totally agree, Tom... I prefer caffeine for a morning wake-up, rather than a strategically aimed shot of cold water!! :))
It is very effective for both "him" and "her" - so actually, Carol, we are both "daisy fresh"!
I was very skeptical about whether this would be a reasonable alternative to purchasing another pricey Toto washlet like we have in the house. After a quick "test drive" this afternoon, I do think this will work quite well this summer in the coach!
Bottom line (yeah, yeah... pun intended!): Once you tried a bidet, you'll totally understand the reason for this mod!
TMI ......... I love the warning in Dave M's link.. DO NOT DRINK FROM THE BIDET. No problem for me, with my back I can't bend over that far. ;D
Gary B
Guess I cant let the wife see this post! We also have a washlet seat in our sticks & bricks and my wife has been on me to get one for the coach. Once you live with one you don't want to be without. Think of all the savings on paper!
I think I will just encourage Jeff to go outdoors and stick the coachwashing hose up his pant leg. Baby wipes are a less "labor intensive" alternative. And this thread probably SHOULD be labeled "Uranus ... and NOT the planet!"
Then ... I looked at the features of the Toto model you referenced, Pat ... Holy Smokes!!
The ultimate in luxury. The Washlet S300 from TOTO.
New, cleaner look featuring hidden cord design
New reinforced base plate for enhanced durability ..... seems like a fine idea
Gentle Aerated, Warm Water, Dual Action Spray with cycling movement and massage feature .... massage feature??
Adjustable water temperature and volume ... totally necessary
Warm air drying with three variable temperature settings .... sounds delightful!
Automatic air deodorizer .... I can certainly get "behind" this!!
Convenient wireless Remote Control with large LCD panel .... a commode with a REMOTE!! Gotta love it! Stand back, folks!
SoftClose® anti-bacterial seat
Convenient Control Panel
Heated Seat with Temperature Control .... Ahhhhhh
Docking Station Easy to Install and Clean ... Docking station? Well, maybe it could be called that in the middle of the night.
Oh ... this is just too easy.
Now you understand what I have to put up with.....Carol is tough on me...
The ultimate in luxury. The Washlet S300 from TOTO.
Actually, our model is 8 years old, so that's the closest link could find. I gotta say, it's a bit like comparing an '05 U270 to a '13 IH-45... I had no idea there were so many more features... new and improved, indeed!New, cleaner look featuring hidden cord design
Not on our "U270" model... am guessing it's like putting on roof rails to hide the awning! :)) New reinforced base plate for enhanced durability ..... seems like a fine idea
Also not on the "U270"... maybe like replacing with Koni shocks?! :P Gentle Aerated, Warm Water, Dual Action Spray with cycling movement and massage feature .... massage feature??
Definitely not on the "U270"... can only imagine... or maybe not! ::) Adjustable water temperature and volume ... totally necessary
Warm air drying with three variable temperature settings .... sounds delightful!
Not a new feature... it's a nice idea, but you could probably read an entire novel in the time it takes to dry... it's a bathroom, not a library! :)) Automatic air deodorizer ....
Now this definitely confirms the U270 vs IH-45 analogy... I have no idea what this is! :o George suggests maybe it's to plug in your computer/Kindle/iPad instead the novel/magazine! :P
This Forum is frankly going down the drain. All we need now is for Dave M to chime in to say he is doing this in his coach but putting a resonator on it for a faster "get up and go" !!
John H
A remote control with LCD so you can watch it in action. :)) :)) :)) :))
Thanks for confirming the "don't want to be without" sentiment. So true!
Having had the Toto washlet seat for 8 years, I really was skeptical as to whether there was a coach-friendly option. The washlets are made for either round or elongated
residential toilet seats and it really didn't appear that it could be installed on our Sealand Traveler model.
George was able to finish the project in less than a day... and the completed installation looks quite professional, so I'm very pleased with the outcome (and I'd bet your wife would be just as pleased!).
Will let you know at the end of our 5-6 month summer travels just how well the bidet and plumbing have withstood travel and use over time. For now, I'm pleased that there is an RV option that didn't melt down the credit card! :))
I do NOT want anyone referencing "back-up cameras" . We MUST maintain a certain level of propriety.
Shoot - I thought the hose outside for that! :o ;D
Just chilly in the winter. hehe
Might want to stay with the cold water model only...I understand cold causes contraction/shrinkage.
George,
After reading these responses from your "Friends" I can see why you did not mention what you were doing when you asked me what size pex to use. ::) ;)
This post is right up there with Carol S.'s turbo turd 3000 adventure. Classics! Everyone on the airplane is looking at me and wondering why I'm laughing out loud!
Uh ... I think that might be faster "go and get up." :))
Huh?! I thought "bathroom and library" were inclusive features rather than exclusive features.
Do you let the DW use it first so the hot water is there and ready or do you brave it out and suffer that first shot of cold?
Boy I'm glad this thread came along. After five years of owning a Foretravel, I find another feature I didn't realize was there. I always thought the little sprayer next to our Sealand was to clean the toilet. Now I know it is a Bidet. I just tried it and it sure does wake you up but it gets the carpet all wet. Did I miss something.
I think only you would know if you "missed something." :P The forum may not be the place to ask that question in the context of this thread.
Kent.... I always thought that was to clean the toilet. too. Now you have me wondering if that's what's called an "okie bee-day"?? :))
Hey Pat, I think you've got it. We'll call it our "BEE-DAY". Maybe less sophisticated toiletry but functional just the same.
I still don't like the wet carpet.
Now I know why the new fancy coaches have tile floor in the bathroom.
Functional, yes.... but comfortable, no. I'll take my $85 attachment and George's plumbing installation over the sprayer/BEE-DAY any time!
Larry... already have a plan, as that very thought occurred to me, too! (a) run the water in the sink until hot, then turn off; (b) turn the bidet handle to "nozzle cleaning" (since the water will flow directly into the toilet and not on the wall opposite the toilet!); (c) turn the other bidet handle to "full hot" to move the hot water to the toilet; (d) turn off the bidet, return the temperature handle to "warm"... and proceed as planned! :))
