OK - We are sitting in Las Cruces, NM and the wind is blowing sand everywhere. Our windows were/are not sliding easily and the tracks do not appear to dirty. She has been sitting for two years in a protected environment. What do you think we should do to ease the movement of our sliding windows?
Use 3M DRY silicone spray 3M 08897 Silicone Lubricant (Dry Type) - 8.5 oz. : Amazon.com : Automotive (http://www.amazon.com/3M-08897-Silicone-Lubricant-Type/dp/B000PJED72)
Thanks Barry. Never would have thought of that.
My favorite is Jig-A-Loo, an invisible all-around lubricant that un-sticks just about anything. It won't stain, protects against rust and is water repellant. It is in an orange can and is available at most auto supply places.
You guys are awsome.
Jig A Loo does not seem to available anymore in the USA. I read that company is Canadian and decided to pull the product. We gave up looking after several auto stores did not have it including Pep Boys where we used to buy it.
Our window manufacturer told us to vacuum window tracks occasionally.
We lube tracks with 3M Dry Silicone we buy from NAPA
It helps to blow the window tracks out with air first before doing the lubrication.
