Title: Running Wires from House Batteries to Dash or Cabinet Above the Microwave
Post by: tothetrail on March 26, 2013, 07:03:34 am
Anyone know the routing to get new wires from the house batteries to the dash on a 2003 era coach?  I couldn't get anything to turn up in a search.

However you run hot wires, good idea to use a fuse at the source end.

Do you have the access panel for the 12volt 15 amp breaker,to the far right hand side of the dash? The main feed for the breakers is a 2GA red wire from the 120 amp main dc circut breaker . So you can add a new breaker there without any problems. That is If your is the same as my u295. Without knowing what size and why the new wires its hard to say.Gam

I have run wires thru here many times.
In the 2nd bay P/S you need to drop panel in center overhead to expose wire trough.
Then use fish rod to pull wires from there to front bulkhead area where you can run wires to drivers side dash area.
There you will find wires going up into an access panel behind foot pedal.

Thanks guys.

The other option is going up to the cabinet above the microwave.  Has anyone routed wires that way?  This if for the installation of a Trimetric panel.

I mounted our trimetric on the wall next to the cooktop and microwave. That is also the refrigerators "wall". It was easy to run the wires to the basement from there. Pull out the two drawers under the cooktop and you have easy access. I then ran the wires through the center channel to the rear of the coach where the batteries are. In TRUTH I ran the wires from the batteries to the front, but the path is the same.
