I have been snooping around this forum for two months now. Thanks to all of you. It has been a great help. I bought a 280 SE Grand Villa off of e-bay about a month ago. It was in Phoenix and talked about a little on this forum. I got my brother to fly out with me and we drove it home. It was a 2300 mile trip. The coach drove great, no problems and I am very happy with my purchase. With the help of this forum I have replaced the rear furnace motor and have figured out the generator problem. It needs new fuel hoses. I bought the hose and am waiting for some warmer weather to replace them. We still have winter here in northern Mn. I am a just-retired fireman and have a small excavating business so many of the motorhome driveline issues I am OK with. Other motorhome issues I need alot of help with. Thanks to all again, this forum has already been a great help! Mark
Congrats on the new FT. I have had a 36" 95 U280 for ten years and am very happy with it. If any of us can help you out as you learn your coach just holler.

sounds like you got a great motorhome ! Congratulations!
That is great. I am sure you will have a blast working on it too. They are well built machines that go and go.
@Mark Congrats on your new to you coach. I'm kinda partial to the GVs! First thing you need to do is go to your profile page and add your model and year to your signature. That way when you ask a question we don't have to guess at it! :)
Go to Profile -> Forum Profile -> Signature. You can go low tech and just put in your model and year or go wild and include a picture, coach details & history, toad, and words to live by. Go to the How To section to learn how to do the fancy stuff.

Thanks for the tip Ken. I have to study the section on how to use the forum. It seems very user friendly compared to some other sites I visit. I am OK with working on an old diesel engine, but when it comes to computers, cell phones, and setting clocks for daylight saving time I struggle. Mark
@Mark you earned your first karma point! I forgot to add that you might want to put you engine brand and size in there too.

Hi Ken thanks for the engine tip. I see you have a Detroit 6v-92. I have had great luck with Detroit two strokes. I know some people like to bash them, but my experience has been if you use the right oil and take care of them like any engine they go forever. I still have four of them in my equipment. 71 series. I like the Cummins and a good friend works for the local Cummins dealer.Helps alot. I have Cats too, great engines, but part prices hurt a little more. I would like to go out and work on the FT, but there is a skating rink around it, 5 degrees this morning. It will get to the 40's this afternoon but then I Will have a moat around it. Maybe next week. Mark
My kids would kill for that skating rink. All three play hockey
Hi Robhatric. You must be a busy guy with three hockey players. They would not be very impressed with my rink- only 40' diameter and most of it is gone! But they say snow is in the forcast so I won't get my hopes up. Did I just figure out your name? Hockey - Hat trick? Mark
yes, but I don't get very many of those. My kids on the other hand are scoring machines. The reason I am looking for a motor home is for hockey. They travel all over to play and it will better than staying at a hotel.
OK...so you can put a picture in the signature line...not smart enough to figure out how to do it. Help.
