Title: Information From the Buddy Rally
Post by: John S on April 18, 2013, 11:18:50 pm
Well, it is almost over and tomorrow is the last day. It has been a rainy day here in Nac but we have been in the training room for lots of seminars.  We heard from Greg that they are working on a shell coach that they will sell to another company to finish off into command coaches, blood mobiles and dental clinics.  They discussed the issues with emissions and testing and the new coaches. The IH (all have been 45 so far) has outsold the Phenix and the Nimbus combined and that seems to be the new trend.

We had information on Silverleaf, Tires, HWH, Three different meetings with the engineers to ask your questions too and tomorrow we have Overland insurance and James Triana Question and Answer session.  We also had a presentation from David F on remodeling and the different things they have done.  I think it is going to cost me a bit more money..

Here is a picture from the lot I took tonight.

David F's staff is up to 6 people.  The best way to contact him is to call in to a service writer and leave a message for David.  Requests for home style refrigerators has really increased.  Also lots of work for SOB's.  They have a Monaco in now whose renovation costs are more than $94,000.

Michelin spent a lot of time, with two corporate reps, talking about the differences between motorhome and long haul trucking applications and suitable tires.  Heavy emphasis on knowing loads on each wheel and using manufacturer's tire pressure charts.

Overland Insurance was at the Rally. It was an interesting discussion. If you are a motorcade member and write a policy with them they will give ten percent to the motorcade club out of their premium.  It will not change your premium and you can not get a discount from it but the club can benefit from it.

John,

I'm assuming this is 10% of the commission Overland makes from the insurance issuer for selling the policy, not 10% of the policy premium that the insured pays.

Just wanted to clarify.

Ten percent of what Overland earns.

One other thing that I noticed during the Buddy Rally, the various different departments of FT do know about our forum and even started out one seminar by "explaining" some stuff so that their side was out there.  I think it is a wonderful resource and helps out James T. by keeping a database for people to search.

I think James T also uses Barry Beam's Foretravel Motorhome technical help and information links (http://www.beamalarm.com/foretravel-links/foretravel-technical-help.html) which has lots more Foretravel Everything information. When I search for How To Do anything on BeamAlarm.com, I always find detailed instructions and annotated photos. And there lots of facts on coach number build years, part numbers, and on & on. A resource without limits.

With Foreforums and BeamAlarm, we can find whatever it takes to make decisions and keep our coaches moving safely down the road.
