Title: Fishing Rod Storage
Post by: Old Hippie on April 23, 2013, 03:38:55 pm
2002 3610 U320

Any ideas on the best way to store fishing rods in this size coach? I did a search and did not see much. I am thinking I will have 2- 7 ft. bass rods  and 2- 8 ft heavy surf rods.
Thanks,
OH

I made a rod canister out of PVC pipe that is 8 ft long and I can put 4 rods without reels in it and then put it under the coach.

Yes, a length of PVC pipe of appropriate size attached to carpeted sides of basement compartments with either Velcro or hose clamps. Also good for awning hooks, crowbar, long handled brushes , etc.

Mine has clips in one of the bays that allow one to store them up on the side of the bay.  You could also use clips like those in the pic that I used for adapter storage.

Large PVC pipe attached to roof?

I agree with Tim. The 6" PVC pipe with caps attached to the roof near the ladder seems to be the safest way to carry the long rods. I sure hate climbing the ladder though.

I store two 7' offshore trolling rods on the floor of the storage bay between the joey bed and the wall.I have each in a Cabela's rod cover.I think theres room for two more on the other side of the joey bed.Gam
