I pressure washed the Cat, let it dry out for a few days -- and yesterday painted the top half of the engine. I've included a snapshot of the paint I bought. It was a perfect color match. It is oil-based paint.
It looks a lot better.
Painting the lower, all the way to the bottom of the oil pan will be a bit more difficult. And -- seeing those of you replacing the engine bay insulation lately -- I checked mine out today on the sidewalls. It practically crumbles to dust just touching it. So -- that's on the list, now.
All the best,
Michael
Beautiful job!!! One day? Looks like it would take that just to mask it off, let alone figure out how to get the paint can in those tight places!
Wow, looks like new! Very nice job. I agree with Dave on the tight spaces.
Outstanding job! Looks as if it's a brand-new CAT!
Holy Schnikies, Michael...Looks great!. I know, you hired a Leprechaun to do the tight spots... :P
That used to be called a Sherwin-Williams Rebuild.
Looks great
Michael..
I have the same coach as you and Cat "yellow" is thee best color.
