Last summer we met a couple in Richland, WA that had a very nice ~2002 Foretravel that had been extensively remodeled both inside and out. While talking to the guy he mentioned that much of the remodeling was do to a serious accident he had in the coach. As we toured the inside he mentioned that I should consider finding a way to secure the electronics in the cabinet over the driver seat. Evidently several pieces of equipment fell out during the accident and hit him in the head! Well I finally got around to it. Yes, I know, it does not look that great, but it will only be in use while traveling. As with most coach projects, this one was a pain to do since the cabinet floor is a false bottom with wires running through it. So everything had to be removed, including the false bottom of the cabinet, to install the handle to which the bungee is attached. The cabinet bottom is fairly thin fake wood, but I used lots of large washers.
I think you need to physically attach the equipment to the cabinet. If you are in an accident severe enough the moving equipment likely will not be restrained by a bungee. Once the equipment starts moving it takes a lot of force to stop it. All my equipment is hard mounted for that reason.
Good point though I'd be less concerned with the electronics than the recliner and swivel dining chairs. Being far back and heavy they could do some serious damage up front. The prior owner of my coach had a huge CRT TV bounce off his head and hit the dash. The dash still has a serious ding, don't know about the head.
