Title: Commercial options for TV mods (split from Re: New flat screen)
Post by: Tim Fiedler on May 07, 2013, 07:14:11 pm
Very nice work!

If in the vicinity of Meccadoches, MOT charges about 3 hours to remove TV, cut down cabinet and install new TV.  They have done hundreds, have it down pat. They also fashion a matching headliner patch to go over the headliner in the new area exposed when the cabinet is cut down.

Agree on MOT for tv chang, will have them change out the Sony LCD 26" (heat generater) for ? 26-32" LED low current draw, less heat.

Are you guys 'serious'?...  3 hours to remove Cathode Ray Tube boxy tv and then cut down cabinetry and then even  installing a new flat screen in 3 hours?
Hold on while I pick myself up off the floor...be right with you! ;)

Wow!.... still catching my breath!

I did some of this 'effort' myself removing original TV, but ...finally had pro's finish it off at FOT.  However, you say 3 hr. billing at MOT? Wow!!!.. Lots of work involved.

Wish I had seen this info earlier but I am very satisfied with my installation/mods... it's perfect!  ;)  Thanks FOT

M-R, Wondering just how much time you were charged for your tv change out after you had started it ?  Sounds like they did it in under 2 hrs ?  ;D
It really does not matter, but you now see why I have some laughs here.
For me, MOT did a fine job, great QC & attention to detail, so I have no gripes, why would have then do the next TV mod.
ps, after the r & r of tv with cabinet cut way back, there was still the cabling to figure out, magic eye etc.  :o
Im happy, so who cares ?

I had MOT do my first TV upgrade. In fact I was the first one that they did. I was the very happy with it for a number of years but the issue was the technology changed. We had an LCD and it would brown out. I saw a remodel taht FOT did on a friends TV and decided to have them do the next one.  Both were well done and both were done right. More cabinetry work on the new one as I had a 46 inch LED put in.  You can not go wrong either place.

Oh and the final TV with the cabinet move and remaking them took 4 days not three hours but it looks like a FT done deal and you can not tell it is a remodel.
