Interesting looks like good products. Although it's funny how Cummins has said thier engines are just fine on L/S fuel no additives needed. Now they are offering a full line of additives (OEM approved)

Dave, cummins told me add nothing, but if thought I needed then biocide would be ok.  Nothing more.  I mentioned this before but now you bring this up again so I am glad to revisit this because at a cummins engine truck shop the said an injector treatment additive would be very good to do.  I did not think he was just trying to sell something, they already had gotten enough money for the gasket job.

And I saw truckers hauling gallons of the injector treatment out the door.

So, what gives?  Well, I called to double check.  This is what I heard today

The engine division is separate of the fluidization division.  Engine folks are neutral on adding, if you feel that you need or want to add, it will not harm.  I think their answer is still the same, it is not needed.  I asked about the injector cleaners, they said that would be good if driving long distances, heavy, etc. as carbon tips can form on the injectors.  I think their key distinction was in prior response, you do not drive a motorhome like a truck full-time?  Anyway, I will use the injector cleaner now as they think it can help and will not harm except wallet.

They asked about biodiesel, do I use?  I told them no but some stations now have mixes.  They said any of their engines will handle up to B20

Bottom line.....I will continue biocide a few times, injector cleaner some now and not use lubricity additives.  NOT to say anyone else would do this and I am open to change if someone on the forum has better ideas!

Cheers, have a great day folks, and thanks again Dave M.

Reading the test results it really looks like clean diesel with an occasional shot of 5% biodiesel yields the best performance.  There seems to be only one fuel additive that really works as far as lubricity goes, and a small percentage of bio.d achieves the same effect for no additional cost.

Glad to hear that as when I filled with fuel yesterday at a Flying J I read on the pump label that it may contain up to 29% biodiesel. May not be able to get away from biodiesel in the near future.

I think the issue with BioD is the "may" contain statement.  I wish they would just come out and state exactly what it is you are pumping.
